Woodbury Foreclosure

I rented the house at the above address for three years. The owners let the house go into foreclosure. We submitted a bid to the bank that owned it then retracted it when we realized that the basement was refinished without permits or inspections (which explained why the electrical work kept frying out our sauna, treadmill, and tv’s). The last time it was listed it was a three bedroom and there were no permits listed for this house since that time. Can the bank legally list it as a five bedroom if the basement was refinished without the necessary permits and inspections?

This falls under “Buyer beware”. Hopefully, anyone buying it will have a Home Inspector in first. Permits for remodeling can be checked at the Building Inspection office. The main problem with buying a foreclosed home is that they are usually sold “as is” and many banks will not allow an inspection.
