Leased house in foreclosure?

Leased house in foreclosure? We are leasing a house in Clovis CA. So CA specific answers would be appreciated. We have lived in a leased house for about 18 months. Rent is always on time. We have been getting a several clues that the house might be close to being in foreclosure. Anyone now how to find out? The owners live several hundred miles from us and this was not an investment property. Co-signer took over. We would like to know if we can find out as quickly as possible and then what are our rights if it is foreclosed. Thanks

As this situation becomes more common the govt. has passed laws to protect renters in your position. These Federal laws out weigh any State laws. Research under cash for keys or TARP act for renters rights Any note holder that received a bailout like Freddie and Fannie and 3 dozen others is required to honor the balance of your lease or buy back your keys to leave.Foreclosure can be a lengthily process so keep paying your rent and expect the owner to not be honest with you.If you seen notices that would be a sign. You can also go down to the tax office and find out who holds the note. You can call them-they wont be specific as to the state of the loan-but will tell you if the property is up for short-sale or auction..
