When a home is bank owned due to foreclosure,why is it ‘ok’ that yardwork is not being done?
The home next to me has a field of grass and weeds with snakes slithering through it!I have complained to my town’s mayor,the realtor,and still the 2 foot mess is there.Another neighbor got so tired of looking at it,that yesterday he mowed the front lawn,but the back is worse and has grown higher,so it is still like that.My young son got scared when he saw a snake coming from their side of the fence into our yard.I also have a puppy and this really is concerning me.WHO is responsible to tidy this yard?
To the 1st respondant–why the hell should I go cut it?I have 3 sons ,pets,and arthritis–yet I go out there even when I am in pain and do my own yardwork!!
You are correct ot contact your local municipality. Perhaps the mayor’s office is not the exact one to contact. Try your local county government offices. For example, in our area (Northern VA) we have county offices who enforce ordinances such as lawn height and trash in the yard.

Try to find a similar local government listing such as this.
If your home is in a neighborhood run by an HOA (Home Owner’s Association) you could also contact them as far as remedying the grass situation.
If those do not work, you can contact your local television News station. Again, in Northern VA we have channel 7 ABC News WJLA which offers a service called “7 on Your Side”, which tries to resolve issues that have no other avenue of resolution or are at an impasse.
