I’m a tenant & my condo owner informed me it’s going into foreclosure, when is the best time for me to buy it?
I’m a tenant in Oahu, Hawaii with 7 months left in my contract but my landlord is going into bankruptcy and the latest mail coming through the mail indicates a company has been secured to oversee the foreclosure proceedings. I think it would be a good time to buy the condo I am renting for under market rate. How and when do I step in to get the best deal and best chance of getting it before someone else?
Wait until you know the following:
1. How many units are delinquent in their condo fees?
2. How many units are in foreclosure?
3. How many units are behind in their property taxes?
4. What is the status of the financial status of the association?
Remember, the solvent owners of a condo have to pay all the expenses to operate the property.
