Does a foreclosure show up on a criminal background check?
Does a foreclosure show up on a criminal background check? I know it’s on my counties public records website and since it has to go to court will it show on a background check? Don’t have a bad criminal background at all,just losing our home through these bad times,and the landlord has to do a criminal background check,they don’t check credit,which I know foreclosure is on that. Thanks.
I have spent the last year and a half researching and testing background check services for a consumer review site (http://www.CompleteReviews.net ) and in that time have run tons of background checks using many different companies. In your question you specifically refer to a “criminal background check”. If a landlord paid specifically for a criminal background check then information relating to your foreclosure will not show up. Most landlords, however, run a regular background check which does look for court records. In that case, I would expect the foreclosure to show up. It really doesn’t matter all that much if he is running a credit check as well since this will show up in detail on that report.
