Foreclosure Gainesville
Is there a free source for foreclosure listings?
I live in Gainesville, FL, and I’m having trouble finding a website that has foreclosure listings for sale. I want the actual street addresses so I can go look at them and not just a pay site with blanks.
Most of the foreclosure list sites have a small fee and provide foreclosure and pre-foreclosure lists nationwide. The cost is usually around $30 a month. This is a very small fee to pay, if you want to buy a foreclosure property.
But you need to remember that these sites are getting the information from public records and MLS sites, all of which, you can access for free.
If you go to your local court house, you can have access to all the local pre-foreclosure records. And to get foreclosure properties that are currently listed, you can use your local MLS or you can contact local lenders and ask them who handles their REO properties.
Another free option is to search craigslist or ebay for the word “foreclosure” in the real estate sections. Your newspaper’s website is also a good place to search.
