how to find out the history of my duplex foreclosures?
is there a website or something that i can go to and check the history of how many times my apartment been in foreclosure? i keep getting letters from the bank saying my owner isnt paying mortgage yet every month im paying her my rent…please answer asap!
Go to your county’s Clerk of the Courts or Deed resistry and search you landlords name under court actions. The first document recorded in a foreclosure action is a lis pendens. It’s unusual the mortgagee is contacting you. That said, don’t stop paying rent until directed otherwise. When owneship changes, either by sale or foreclosure, the new owner must honor existing leases.
