Depression Foreclosures

Record home foreclosures combined with the stock market’s steepest June drop since the Great Depression…

at a time when oil is topping $145 a barrel — despite the many problems at home, all bush can think about is attacking Iran.

Bush is currently putting $12 billion a month on America’s credit card, payable to China, to pay for his ill-conceived war in Iraq. Shouldn’t we be focusing on rebuilding America, instead of rebuilding Iraq? If we continue the GOP’s misguided adventures in the Middle East, will it eventually bankrupt the USA?

Yes we should be rebuilding. The economic indicators you list here (add an increase in unemployment rates too) combined with the national debt would suggest we are already bankrupt. Bush’s big solution to boost the economy was the stimulus checks. That fixed everything, right? Ahem. If a change in mindset has to occur before real social change occurs, let’s at least stop lying to the next generation. Let’s quit glorifying war and equating it with patriotism (as sung in our national anthem). Let’s share some facts, rather than fables with them. Tell them about the wholesale slaughter of a people and the vanishing of cultures and languages (such as occurred in the “founding” of the nation). Maybe when the true horror of war is realized in something rather than fireworks, really cool guns, and some misplaced conception of what an Amercian is, then there might be a chance.

BANKS MAKE MONEY ON FORECLOSURES FROM YOUR TAX DOLLARS! Great depression underway.
