As a Canadian citizen and resident, can I own property in the US?
As a Canadian who lives in Canada, can I buy a home in the US as an investment? I don’t mean to sound like a vulture, but is it possible to take advantage of of a house foreclosure- buy it, sit on it until the economy improves, then sell it at a profit?
Yes. You will have to apply for a US Federal Tax ID number, but there should not be much difficulty in doing this. Good Luck!
