Blue Foreclosures

Empty electrical box in kitchen?

Thinking about buying a foreclosure. All appliances were taken from the kitchen. There is an empty electrical box on the wall. It is located on the other side of the wall oven – not sure if the circuits are connected. Just a blue electrical box with wires coming out – I think 110V. What the heck could this have been? What else in the kitchen, other than appliances, would be hard wired? There is a picture of the house before it was emptied, and the item seems to be small and square, but I can’t make out any details. Any ideas?
No, this would be some kind of small appliance that sits on the counter.
Yes it is on the other side of the wall from the built-in wall ovens. Under the cabinets so there’s not very much room. Intercom?
Just curiosity. Besides, it’s kind of an eyesore because it is not build into the wall, it sticks out. I would hate to just cover it and not use it if I could figure out what to put there.

Upscale coffee makers are often hardwired. Is there a waterline near it? May just be a hole for plastic tubing to feed the appliance.
